Train ride back to where we started from.

Up early and Laura drove us to Stuttgart station. It was lovely to see her again and meet the two most important men in her life. Thanks ever so much.

Then the fun started..........not again........the platform that we had for our train was closed due to works so we waiting until the number came up of the new one.....platform 10, no worries. Walked up,there but thought we heard an announcement that it was now platform 6. Dusan ran down to the end and we had to move quick smart to platform 6. Not easy with two big suitcases........

Got on the train and off to Koln and then we had to change trains. At one stage the train was going 300 kms per hour.....impressive. At Koln we got the lift down to the shops etc and found a board with the platforms etc. it said platform 5, the same one we had come from. We got in the lift with the very lost Dandenong lady and back up. Now to work out our carriage. We had finally worked out that all trains had a wagon number where your seat is and they stop at letters staggered along the platform. Asked a station lady......go to A..........then the announcement ........our wagon was now E..........back along the platform suitcases and all..........the joy!




Finally arrived in Amsterdam............and walked literally across the road to the hotel. We had booked our last night at the Hilton as it was so close to the station and we got an extremely good price. Unfortunately as we where checking in we heard "your room is ready, no wait it isn't", we heard this in Paris and did not sit well.


So we put the baggage in the storage area and went out to find a cheese shop to purchase some cheese to take home. Got slightly lost but in Amsterdam every turn has its new delights. Got the cheese and went back.......room still not ready.......not happy Jan............

Finally got into our room and because we were not impressed every problem became an issue......cleanliness was the main thing.......one thing my dear sister has taught me is how to use social media to your advantage.......twitter rant and with in 5 minutes had an email from Hilton Help asking us a few questions............

Off again for a final wander around Amsterdam. A fascinating city, one we definitely want to revisit in the future. Last minute presents and another trip round H & M..........and then dinner time..........we found a wonderful Mexican place and had a lovely meal and another wonderful bottle of wine. The wines we have drunk have been awesome.







Back to the hotel to have a call from the Hotel Manager to give us clean glasses and have a conversation. No worries. They wanted to upgrade us but we were only staying for a night and needed to leave early so that was no option. They offered us free transport to the airport........wonderful......no train with 2 suitcases. Thanks Hilton we love you again........

Off to sleep as we have an early start to the airport off to Bali.
