A Day in the Village.

With Laura and Tommy having to work we were up to our own devices. Could have hopped on a train and gone to many interesting cities etc we decided that we would stay in the village, buy some food and cook dinner. One thing Dad would always say is how wonderful it was to come home from work and Dusan had cooked a wonderful meal. So off we went..........

Beautiful homes all around us, loving the German style of architecture, we began to see if we could locate a supermarket. We found a cake shop, the Bank and the village Church. The Church had the most amazing pipe organ, beautiful. Kept walking, and walking, turn here, turn there, more lovely homes.........no shops......then we found a Bottle Shop. Lovely so we had 2 bottles of wine (they were lovely too, cannot believe the price of wine here). More walking, Dusan kindly assisted a farmer in watering his paddock..........walked over the lovely creek and back to Laura's. dropped off the wine, lets start again.........

More walking and a coffee and cake later we found a supermarket. Bought stuff for pasta and more wine and there was a little cart outside that had roast chooks, roast pork and the most amazing ribs - almost as good as the ones Dusan makes! Walked back to Laura's and had a lazy afternoon, enjoying the silence, cooking pasta sauce and remembering our wonderful past 3 weeks.

Laura and Rowan arrived home, then Tommy and we all sat down to a wonderful meal.....Rowan even asked for seconds! Enjoyed our €3.75 bottles of wine and then it was bed time as we have a big train ride back to Amsterdam early in the morning.
