The first train stopped, we got off and then found the platform for the Thalys train which left in an hour. Found a coffee shop and sat and relaxed till it was time to leave. Just over n hour later we were thinking we should be close to Paris now but it was still country side. Then we blinked and we were there. Off the train and to find a taxi to the hotel. Walked out of the station and saw a man relieving himself against the station wall......where are we?......found a taxi and off we went to the hotel. The taxi driver was actually very funny and if we had have been able to understand him it would have been even funnier a trip. Round a few corners and silently we both are thinking where are we? And around the corner we went through a small tunnel and we were right next to the Lourve. Both now impressed. The Eiffel Tower was in the distance. Over the bridge to near where Lady Di was killed and onto the hotel.

Checked in but room not quite ready so found a coffee shop and had a quick bite to eat, chips were cold but burger was lovely. Back to the hotel and up to our room.......what a view.......awesome! I had a quick shower as I really had to wash my hair and we were off.

Eiffel Tower first. Found the line to the stairs and the fun began. All those hours of Pilates started to pay off........668 steps later we made it and what an lovely view. The line to go up the top was way too long so we decided to walk back down and see something else.

We walked across the road towards the Trocadero and there was a small carousel and it had a balloon on it..........yes I did take a ride and had magical fun, flying my balloon around Paris. I had some guys that were fans too and they go a wave every time I went past.

Next stop was the top of the Trocadero looking back towards the Eiffel Tower. Great view. And off we went again and some how found the Arc de Triomphe. Found the tunnel under the road and the more steps up to the top. Lovely view again then back down, back under the road then wandered down the Champes Elyess. Back over the river and found a cafe for dinner. Dusan had the most wonderful French onion soup and I had snails, bit chewy but the sauce was really nice. Then pepper steak and a pasta dish and chocolate mousse to finish. Back to the room and as we got into the room the Eiffel Tower was doing a disco light twinkle - very pretty. Popped the cork on our bottle of Dom and toasted our holiday, magical.

After a wonderful nights sleep we woke and off again. Straight to the Eiffel Tower to go right up the top. Waiting in line, tickets and up we went. Two lifts take you to the top. Great fun again and a lovely view of Paris. Back down and across the river and made our way to the Lourve. So many old and majestic buildings one after another, eyes are having a work out like our feet! Stopped for a coffee then to the Lourve. We had decided that unless it was raining we were happy just to see the outside as there is so much to see in so little time.

Found a place for lunch and had pizza to share. The French waiters are extremely flirty and as we were having lunch and afterwards I "wrote" Heather's version of 50 Shades of Grey but it was titled "2 shades of black and white in Paris".

Over the river to Notre Dame. We found a line and waited about 45 minutes together in. More stairs, 400 in fact, all the way up the towers and then back down. Thanks again Amy for conditioning my legs. Excellent view and the gargoyles were amazing.

Down we went and made our way back to the hotel via who really knows where. Tonight we have a dinner booked at the Eiffel Tower so now getting ready for that. Two awesome days in Paris!
