After having our wonderful tour of the Fire Station we got changed and then went to the Coal Mines. The Coal Mines are not working anymore however there is a simulation in the basement of the building so you can see what it was like. They were very nice and found an English speaking guide to show us around. It was extremely interesting seeing how they extracted the coal etc. great fun.
Next back to Martine's for some lunch then we went for a drive and walked up the man made hill near the coal mines. You could see all over Belgium, it was beautiful. Thanks to Amy and Kate my legs did not hurt at all.
We then went out for waffles. Yum, yum, yum.......so good they were gone in a flash.
Back to the Hotel, glass of wine then bed time.
