Paris walking and looking.

We decided to walk up to the Catacombs as we thought that would be a good place to have a look. We walked, got coffees and croissants and kept walking. Amazing Race style - if in doubt ask at a Hotel........found our way there only to discover that it was closed due to problems with the air conditioning 😁 . So what to do next.......we walked down to the Luxembourg Gardens and wandered around. They were beautiful.




It started to drizzle so we decided to make our way back to the hotel. On the way we bought a couple of baguettes and a really yummy raspberry custard tart. We stumbled across our next car, a Ferrari for $50000 euros with 22000 kms on the clock.....perfect for an everyday car to drive to Dandenong and back! Rain started a bit heavier but we were not too wet by the time we got back to the hotel.




Wonderful lunch and then I think 12 days of consistent going and hitting the ground running in 4 countries now had decided to take its toll and we both fell asleep for a few hours. Refreshed we wandered around, the Australian Embassy is actually next to the hotel as is a station which we will need, small shops and quaint butchers, cake shops and fruit shops.


We had dined at Cafe Gustave on Monday night we made our way back there as we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Arthur has been our waiter and he is extremely good at assisting me order in French and have petite conversations with him. Another great meal then off to bed.




Today we got up and caught the train to the Palace of Versailles. Caught the right train no issues and off we went. Arrived at the correct station, but then the one we needed was at the end of the line so we did not have too much of a chance of making an error. Walked up the road and saw our "granny Flat" then turned the corner and realised where we left our home. It is way too hard to describe the magnitude of the Palace. Extremely ornate and big is really the only words to describe it. We wandered from room to room looking at huge paintings, tapestries, and then entered the Hall of Mirrors. Mirrors and chandeliers for approximate 50 metres. The gardens were massive too, they went on forever.











Back to the station and train back to the Eiffel Tower station. Lunch time, Cafe Gustave beckoned and off for a club sandwich, French fries and coke.

Now we are back in the room. Still marveling over our wonderful view and starting to pack up as tomorrow we leave at 6 am for Austria.
