Omg, we are in Amsterdam!!!!

Flight was unevenful from Jakarta to Dubai except the seat i was sitting on decided not to move upright so we had to move seats. we had a 40 minute stop over in Dubai. While we were there we managed to "misplace" our transit cards and had our names called over the intercom to come and get them......whoops. Dubai looked like heaps of gold necklace chains with diamonds on them from the air.

Dubai to Amsterdam, slept most of it, saw a massive lightening storm ( no place better than home when it is thundering & lightening so was uncomfortable). Arrived in Amsterdam and had to take a bus through to customs. Am sick of customs as we have been stopped everywhere for all sorts of things but am keeping our sense of humor.

Caught the train to Amsterdam centraaal and caught a taxi to the Movenpick Hotel......wonderful hotel and they had our room ready so we could check in, have a shower then off we went.
Omg, Amsterdam is awesome, the canals, the bikes.......the old buildings, it is wonderful. We just wandered around, saw beautiful canals, cafes, and then we found Dam Square. Everywhere we looked was just over loading the mind. We found part of the Red Light District where the girls are "advertising" themselves in the windows. Some were really pretty, one was sitting back in her undies texting!. A few we thought you may be "surprised" as to what may be hiding...........

We walked around and found a lovely old Church and had a look inside. It was beautiful. We paid a euro each and got a candle, said a pray and left it in the Church, it was a lovely experience.

Next we went to the Anne Frank House. We waited about half and hour to get in. It was a surreal experience, the smallness of the area that they hid in, how dark it must have been and then the agony of someone tipping the nazis off that the family were hiding there. A great experience.
We then commenced walking back to the hotel, had a drink in a small bar, had some wonderful chips and just soaked in the whole atmosphere. We also visited a wonderful cheese shop.........words can not describe the taste and smell....

We just had some dinner, I had a bath and now it is 7.30 and almost ready for bed.
