Our week in Bali on the way home.

We sadly left Amsterdam in a chilly 3 degrees. Car to the airport, checked baggage in, coffee, and a trip to Victoria's Secret inside the airport. Off we went to Bali. We left at 11 and were told to be at the gate by 10. We left the lounge by 10 and started walking, and walking, and walking.......20 minutes later we arrived at the gate.....a very big airport for sure. Settled in our seats which were to be home for a few hours.

Dubai once more looked beautiful and when taking off we saw the main city with all of the high rise buildings and also a fireworks display.

Arrived in Jakarta and went in the right queue this time, no walk of shame for Dusan! Through transit to catch our flight to Bali. This was a short flight and we were back in our island paradise. The heat hit us straight away and coats, scarves and jumpers were pushed to the back of the cases.

We stayed again at the Novotel, checked in, quick swim and off to La Scala for our usual first dinner. As it was Dusan's birthday we ordered "party food" for dinner and enjoyed the first of many moonstrucks for the 7 days. Back to the villa and sleep time .

Off for a quick trip to Kuta in the morning. The usual DVD's and Bread Talk for lunch. Swimming and relaxing. Dusan went off for a massage and I tried to have a snooze near the pool. Unfortunately the wonderful Aussies checked in next door and all afternoon and until 3.30 the next morning we heard them yelling, screaming and laughing. Our once quiet relaxing paradise was no more........

Mum arrived from Townsville the next day. We went to see the dolphins and met Nemo, she was beautiful. Mum and I went shopping a couple of times at Bali Collection, we went to Uluwatu Temple and we all went to Seminyak to La Lucciola for dinner and watched the sun set. Mainly we spent the time relaxing and enjoying the warm weather.

On the Sunday we packed up and off the the airport. We had an earlier flight to Jakarta. Organised mum and the hotel to get her to her flight later in the day and waved goodbye. Plane from Denpasar to Jakarta, got our bags, found the Qantas checkin and then the lounge until flight time. Boarding the plane hearing the Aussie accents again was a little weird but so comforting and familiar........I was actually getting slightly confused which country I was in sometimes!!!

Quick flight to Sydney, through Customs, no issues with our cheese and off to catch our plane to Melbourne. Home sweet home.
