We go through the brown wooden door.

We got up early and off we went again. We decided to wander around and then go up to the castle on the hill. Up in the lift, walked down......my feet!!!!!! We had bought rolls so had a lovely picnic up the top. Then down and ready to have dinner with Rok and Irene.
A beautiful dinner at a place called "River" which we frequented several times and really enjoyed. It was nice to meet cousins of Dusan. A lovely evening.
The next morning being Friday we thought we would catch e train to see a castle that is built into a hill. Apparently no trains, said the bus would leave at 9.36 but at 9.55 we still were sitting there so we decided to leave, got our money back and walked back into the old town. More wandering, and just admiring the wonderful city that Ljubliana is.

Back to the apartment to drop off some stuff (ok, shopping!!!!), and we got a message from Rok to get together for dinner, why not. Snooze time then showers and ready for dinner. We went to a tapas place called the Tabar. They also had lovely Slovenian wine, actually Slovenia is famous for its wine which is very nice. Another lovely night.
Rok picked us up on Saturday morning at 9.00 and he took us to Bled. What a beautiful place. There is a castle on the shore of a beautiful lake with a church on the island in the middle.

They are not allowed to have any motorised transport on the lake so we were taken by a boat by a man who rowed it. The water is so clean and beautiful. We had 30 minutes at the church then were rowed back. Great fun.
Bled are famous for these extremely naughty yet scrupulous custard slices. Too nice.

Then back to Ljublinana to pick up Irene and they took us to the mountains. Words cannot describe the majesty of the mountains. We drove up to a place called Vrshic (I think that is how it is spelt), on the side of the mountain is a face. Cool

A bit further up the road and we found the perfect spot to scatter the ashes. You can see the valley below and the face in the rocks and was the perfect spot. It was windy when we chose it but then half way through, it stopped, Dusan ended up getting ashes all over him.

A sad yet fitting end to a wonderful yet very hard life.
We then drove back and going towards Austria there was a traffic jam, will never complain about Melbourne traffic again............it went for at least 10 Kim's and the cars were not even moving. People were outside their cars walking around.......sometimes apparently they get out of their cars and play cards or badminton!!!!!
Drove through Kranj whee Dusan was born and went to the cemetery where is granma is buried. With her is her son and also her mother in law!!!!!!

Dinner which was lovely then sleep time after another big day.
Sunday and the church bells are ringing through the town.....lovely. Coffee the. We went to a vending machine and bought some fresh milk!!!! You buy the bottle then fill it. Something I have never done.

Off to Predjama Castle. It was build by a count on the side of the hill in 1570, it was built in the side of the hill but the count also had several tunnels which were from the cave system them. Apparently the count died on the toilet - so he died on the throne!!!!!

A great morning.
Back to Ljubliana, picked up Irene from work, coffee then dropped off back at our apartment. Lovely people and looked after us so well. We can not wait to entertain them in Australia!!!!!
Afternoon sleeping as I think I got car sick, light dinner, and sleep then being picked up at 9.00 am to got to Trieste on the Italian Coast!!!
