Santorini, a magical Greek Island.

We had an alarm set this morning as we arrived in Santorini at 7 am. This is the only port we actually are tethered, meaning we had to catch little boats to get to the island. Wanting to spend as much time as possible we all got ready and were on the first tether to the island. Several ways of getting up the cliff to Fira - the cable car or a donkey ride, however we decided to catch a boat to Oia.

We arrived at Oia and really it didn't look like there was anything there to see except for a few supermarkets.......however you walk up the hill and.......

It is beautiful. We stopped and had an iced coffee with an awesome view, wandered around and then took the bus back to Fira. One thing we had been dreaming of when we booked the cruise was having a meal of authentic Greek food. Combined with a magnificent view, great wine and company we really enjoyed ourselves.

Back to the ship and we decided the line to the cable car was too long so walked down the hill with the donkeys. The donkeys are very cute yet we all thought as much as they are looked after they looked sad. We had heard they run down the hill and know where to go and this is true.

Back to the ship via the tether boat, snooze, dinner and now cruising to Katakolan.
