There is no place like home!!!!!

Early mornings seem to have followed me all holiday and the last day is no exception. Up, all packed and ready to go to the airport by 7.30. Sad to leave, so many more adventures to had but will be nice to be home with Pagi, Jelly and Coco and our bed and pillows.

Check in no dramas at all and way under our weight limit for our bags at least!!!! I should have shopped more. Off to the lounge to wait for our flight which was due to leave at 11.00 am. Drama at the gate when advised the flight was delayed. Back to the lounge and finally we could board, two hours later......slight panic started to creep in - will we be able to catch our connecting flight in Abu Dhabi........

No issues on the flight at all, bit of a snooze and landed in Abu Dhabi.....will we make our flight as we were supposed to leave at 9.45 and it was 9.45......off the plane and at the end of the bridge was a greeting party with signs for all of the people on the flight to Melbourne. We jumped on one of those buggies and went riding through the airport at a high speed, baggage rescreening and I had to take my shoes off, no time to put them back on so ran through the airport with bare feet carrying my shoes, arrived at the gate to find the plane just boarding.......relax, breathe, we made it.

A bit of turbulence on the flight home, something to eat, watch a movie and sleep. Approaching landing in Melbourne we all of a sudden aborted and took off up very steeply.....apparently there was another plane taking off on the run way. Round for a second go and no issues. Breezed through customs, Jelly lost his weight loss biscuits as you are not allowed to bring dog food into Australia.

We had wonderful holiday, bitter sweet in parts, saw heaps of beautiful things, experienced new and exciting things. Now to start saving and planning for the next GOF and GOB Adventure.
